Prepare pie crust then blind bake it (so it's not soggy after adding wet filling). This Southern Pecan Pie recipe has a perfect nutty, sweet and indulgent filling that bakes inside an all butter flaky crust! Pour the pecans in the bottom of the unbaked pie shell. Pour the syrup mixture over the top.

Instructions to make Pecan Pie:
  1. Pre heat oven to 400°, set out premade crust to get up to room temp to make it easier to spread out in tin.
  2. Take 3 eggs, mix them well. They should be almost fluffy.
  3. Add other ingredients minus pecans to the eggs. Mix well.
  4. Place crust in tin, I chose to spray my pan with coconut oil before putting in crust, once in, pour mixture into crust.
  5. Top with pecans, they should rest on top of mixture.
  6. Bake for 15 min @ 400 degrees then reduce to 350 for 30 to 45 minutes, depending on your oven. Middle shouldn't jiggle too much when you remove it.
  7. Let cool once removed from oven. Cut and serve. Makes 8 pieces.

The pie should not be overly jiggly when you remove it from the oven (though it will jiggle a bit). This pecan pie recipe impressed me from beginning to end. The crispy topping, the chunky pecans, the gooey center and oh, of course, the flaky crust. You cannot go wrong with this recipe!
